I’m a watercolor artist residing in the historic Dayton neighborhood of St. Anne’s Hill. My favorite subject matter usually revolves around my other passion of gardening. My colorful watercolors on canvas celebrate the beauty and uniqueness of nature. I love to do large scale florals that give an intimate view of the details we sometimes miss in nature. Because my subject matter is often the plants and flowers I have grown, I feel a special connection to them. I believe gardeners have a mystical relationship with the plants they grow and love. I think that’s why painting them is so important to me.
I am intrigued with the challenges and possibilities of watercolor. Painting watercolor on canvas has been a wonderful adventure for me. I fell in love with the luminosity and vibrancy of color that can be achieved with the medium of watercolor. With each painting, I strive to capture and preserve the inherent beauty of what nature teaches us. Nature has always been a sort of cathedral for me: a source of solace, inspiration and peace. I hope you enjoy my creations and want one of them to be a part of your surroundings.
