Michelle Brandt
Painting
I am a self-taught artist, painting in primarily Acrylics and watercolors. I learned from years of doodling & crafting.
I have always had a love for art, even as a young child. From with the kids when they were little, to gardening, sewing, cross-stitch and photography, and also singing in the church choir. When I retired in 2021, I decided to concentrate on painting. The flowers and birds in my garden are inspiring and I do a lot of studio work from photographs. Lately I have been doing more somewhat abstracted realism and impressionistic paintings, but regardless of the style, I try to put joy and happiness into every painting I do. I have a great love for bright happy colors that I see all around me, whether it be putting it on paper, canvas or even a rain barrel or flowerpot.
I moved to Dayton 40+ years ago and I love Dayton and the vibrant arts community here. I am a member of the Dayton Society of Artists and the Dayton Blues Society. I reside in the Belmont neighborhood of Dayton, OH.
