I am a self taught landscape and nature photographer I am a native Ohioan. I received a Bachelor Degree in Design from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In 1987 I received a Master of Architecture from Washington University in Saint Louis, Mo. I have always had a love of nature, wildlife and photography, and have always had a camera. In 2010 I began to pursue nature photography as a full time photographer.
My passion for nature photography has taken me to places that continue to take my breath away. In my work, I seek to intertwine the beauty of nature with the philosophy of our shared existence. Each photograph serves as a reflection of my journey through diverse landscapes, capturing moments where light dances with form, revealing the intricate connection between all living things. The imagery often centers on natural scenes—trees silhouetted against expansive skies, the soft glow of sunsets washing over mountains—inviting a sense of serenity and contemplation. My passion for the environment drives me to discover and document the ephemeral beauty surrounding us. Each outing into the wilderness is an opportunity for growth, both as an artist and as a human. I approach photography as an ethical practice, guided by principles that emphasize mindfulness and respect for nature. I strive to present each scene not merely as a visual representation but as a narrative that showcases the inherent value of life and the interconnectedness of all beings. Through this art, I aim to inspire others to pause and reflect, to recognize the beauty in their own surroundings, and to cherish the lessons hidden in each moment. My work embodies a philosophy rooted in curiosity and appreciation—a reminder that everything is beautiful if we choose to see it.
