La Petite

La Petite is an original, hand created monotype print.  It is framed in a 14 1/2″ x 11 1/2″ silver Neilson Frame with an acid free mat and backing.  It is part of a floral series I did last Fall using in some cases, simple weeds I found along the roadside that I found to be quite lovely.

It was created using Switch Grass, ink, plexiglass, soft rollers and my etching press.  I have always had a deep love, fascination and respect for the beauty in nature.   Most of my monotypes use common grasses and what most people would consider to be weeds, nuisances in farmers fields and home owners flower gardens.   Through monotypes I am able to immortalize and share the beauty I see in the shapes, textures, and movement of each element I incorporate in my art trying to capture it’s very essence.  Everything God made is perfect and wonderfully created, and I appreciate the opportunity to incorporate His creations into my art.
