“Marriott Grand Hotel, Bird Cage Lounge”
“Marriott Grand Hotel, Bird Cage Lounge” is an
Intaglio Etching, framed 13″ x 14″.
This etching was created by drawing the image on a copper plate with a sharp instrument that has been first coated with an acid resistant ground. As I drew, I removed the protective ground material and exposed the copper plate so when I placed it in the acid solution, the lines were “etched” into the plate. This process is repeated many times until the image is competed upon which the
finished plate is inked, wiped, and printed on damp paper with an etching press
for each print in this edition of 30. After drying, each print was hand
signed and numbered. Acid free mat , backing
and tape used.
This is an etching, an original print with an edition
of 35. It has been awarded in the
following local shows:
*Grand Festival of Art Outdoor Show,
October 1989 and 1992. Purchase Awards, Point Clear, AL
